GONE NOW THANKS
I wonder if this print was inspired by the frieze on architectural masterpiece? It just seems to have that sort of composition….
The chrysanthemums have a lot of movement and the digital rendition makes them especially imposing. Then the Mums are anchored with this monotone border, bringing a real balance to the print. I think the border flowers might be dogwood?
This panel print with a border offers extra opportunities for some imaginative cutting. You could simply lay the pattern over the border and flowers and cut as is. Or you can cut the border part separately to sew on in a different orientation, like a centre front panel for example.
This fabric is a lightweight silk, a habotai, with a beautifully smooth hand and a slight translucent glow to the fabric. The colours consist of two palettes: warm tones of yellow, apricot and pink for the Mums, and the dark teal/murky green, grey and off-white for the borders. It is light and floaty, drapes beautifully, is a little bit sheer, so some styles may need something underneath. I definitely see something loose and floaty out of this fabric.
The silk is 130cm wide, and there are two panels, with each panel measuring 88cm. The price is $23 per panel/$46 for the piece.
I can post this in the smallest satchel (with tracking) at $8.25. Please see here for full details on payment and posting. If interested, please click on the email below; fabric details will appear automatically and I will get back to you asap. (Australia delivery only thanks).
