Ensign stripes ahoy silk crepe de chine SOLD

There’s no end of inspiration for a lovely striped fabric and the runways especially have been bursting with stripes.

The magazine fashion editorials feature one page turn after another of stripes in all imaginable manifestations.

This silk is a very lovely crepe de chine weave, meaning it is tightly woven, soft, fluid, lots of body and great handling.  And, I always wash these silks and usually much prefer the fabric after a good wash.

This silk fabric features a dark navy base with primary colour stripes singing over the surface.  The stripes run in a horizontal direction but with the weave of the fabric you could cut them in a vertical orientation if you wish.

The fabric is 115cm wide and the length is 2 metres.  you can make just about anything with this fabric…tops, dresses, skirts.  I think I would try the top at the left in the collage above.  It is a simple cut but then it has this asymmetrical drape at the right which elevates it way beyond the ordinary.

I’ll keep the price down on this silk at $22 a metre/$44, even though it cost me more.  I’ll be able to send this fabric in a small satchel at $8.25. Please see here for full details on payment and posting.  If interested, please click on the email link below; fabric details will appear automatically and I will get back to you asap. (Australia delivery only thanks).
