GONE NOW THANKS
I have two pieces of this silk, otherwise I wouldn’t be letting it go.
This silk crepe de chine is straight from a shop on West 35th Street. The fabric stores start to become thin on the ground by the time you get to 35th, but there were a couple of new places last time I went, with this beauty waiting for me.
I can’t say that this silk is crisp at all, but it does have a bit of body to it, and I am thinking of making something “sculptural” with my pieces, like the McQueen ‘origami’ piece below, bottom centre. I use silk organza a lot to underline fabrics, and I’ll do the same with this Anna Sui.
Left is a Nina Ricci dress, the top is Marissa Webb, to the right is a MSGM dress.
This silk is 120cm x 2 metres. The price is $25 a metre/$50 for the piece.
