I’ve put up some pretty bold prints in the listings done today. Which seems like the perfect moment to introduce this beautifully understated luxe stretch knit. The base fabric is a delicate weave grey wool knit (probably a blend) over which the most beautiful silver filigree has been patterned and then highlighted with understated silver sequins. It is very beautiful indeed.
This width is 140cm x 1.8 metres so you’ve got options. If I were making this up now I’d go for a cardigan of some kind to wear over a grey dress for a special occasion. Or any time really. You could do a wrap thing, have drapey tie ends, or some other way to showcase the fabric. You don’t even have to sew anything. You could just finish the edges and use this length as a wrap. The sequins are secure and not the least bit scratchy so you can throw the ends around your shoulders without a worry.
There used to be a shop near me – these were the good old fabric days – that had the most amazing high-end fabrics. Some of them ran into the many hundreds of $$ a metre, and they sold too. This grey knit is from that shop. It was very, very expensive, over $150 a metre. It came straight from one the best mills in Italy, when those mills were working at their peak. I bought it on sale, but it was still very expensive. I am pricing this fabric at $65 a metre/$117 for the piece, plus post (a small satchel I think, but I will have to check). (Australia delivery only thanks very much).
