The perfect weight and drape, the perfect length and a great print and price…
This would be described at a light to medium weight dress silk. It is perfectly opaque and has a really lovely hand for draping effects, gathers or volume generally. But it’s a perfect silk for fitted garments too, with a bit of lycra in the silk for wearing ease…not much, but just enough for that extra comfort.
The print features slightly blurry ferns and flowers, a bit sparsely placed, in a lovely café latte shade. This silk will work perfectly for dresses, tops, skirts, even lovely drapey trousers if you happened to like these.
This silk is 120cm wide and the length is 3 metres. It came via the NYC garment district. The fabric price is $25 a metre/$75 for the piece, less than it cost me.
