Fantastical digital print linen in burnt amber palette SOLD

Ok, this print is quite something else.

I don’t even know if I can describe the graphics in this print.  Sometimes I see the facets of diamonds, other times a lipstick tube, and then findings from a tool box.  Whatever, someone certainly had fun putting this print together.

The fabric is a medium weight linen.  It behaves as a typical linen would do…you can pleat the linen and give it some volume, but you need to think how to do this as it is not a liquid fabric like a silk or viscose.  Amber, sun, lemon and burnt orange colours dominate, shot here and there with a cooling azure blue.

For inspiration about how to cut the digital prints, you need look no further than Peter Pilotto.

These images are from Lyst, Far Fetch and Matches.

I know it is a riot, but most of all, I love what Proenza Schouler did with their totally inspired digital print collection from just a couple of years ago.  Their embellishment was just sensational, particularly the grommet-studded hemlines.  I still look and marvel at how they managed to pull off these insanely busy elements in single garments so well.

You could add grommets to the hem of the linen if you wished.  It is actually a fabric that could handle the grommets.  Most other fabrics would distort from the weight of them.

I got this fabric from one of the designer fabric stores in Australia.  I know I paid quite a high price for this, but I can’t remember quite how much.  It is something more that I will ask for the fabric.

I can post this in the medium satchel (with tracking) at $13.40.  Please see here for full details on payment and posting.  If interested, please click on the email below; fabric details will appear automatically and I will get back to you asap. (Australia delivery only thanks).
