I’m sure there are wool devotes out there who are happy to look at beautiful wool fabrics no matter what season it is? I love my wools, I really, really love them, and quite happily sew wools in high summer!
So, this is really a magnificent fabric.
It is a wool/mohair blend and you can see from the image that the boucle is subtle effect on a smooth weave. The colours are a red, teal, magenta, kelly green, violet blend, underpinned with some black weave.
I’m a bit frustrated with my images here. To my eye, the overall hue of the fabric is more blue/teal than appears in these images. My camera really like to pick up the red where red and blue are competing in an image and I’m not sure what to do about that as I don’t want to digitally alter the photos either. My photos really don’t do this fabric justice at all I’m afraid.
Anyway, can I assure you that it is just glorious?!
I dream in coats so I always buy generous lengths of fabric. This one measures 155cm x 2.9 metres. I bought this fabric from the lovely Linda at EOS and paid US $42 a yard (plus shipping and currency conversion). I will price this wool at $38 a yard/$110 the piece because it is summer, though cost recovery would put the fabric at well over $50.
I would need to post this in the large satchel (with tracking) at $16.70. Please see here for full details on payment and posting. If interested, please click on the email below; fabric details will appear automatically and I will get back to you asap. (Australia delivery only thanks).
