Hi and welcome…a quick word about this blog…
I'm a mad fabric collector but I've gone a bit overboard, so I've started this blog to re-home some gorgeous, top-quality fabrics at really great prices. Mostly ex-designer fabrics from places like New York's garment district and Milan's fabric mills, and mostly single pieces. Please see the 'About' and 'FAQ' at the top of this page for more info. Fine Italian cotton via NYC
This cotton came from one of the higher-end shops in the NYC garment district which used to buy a significant lot of fabrics from the Italian mills that serviced the European designer community. It is a superb quality cotton, just so soft to the hand, lightweight but opaque. They got everything right with this cotton.

A burst of spheriforms cotton voile
This fabric was an Australian or New Zealand designer. It might have been Trel1se C0oper, but a bit of time has past since I rustled through my (enormous) collection of fabrics and I just can’t remember. If it wasn’t them, it was a designer in that milieu. I so love the colours here: persimmon, wheat, duck egg blue and manila against a warm brown background.

SOLD – Colour Card Crisp Cotton
Sold thank you.
There was probably room for the word “crinkle” in the heading somewhere as well but that would have been taking it too far and the crinkle in the cotton is only a touch really. How can I name this fabric anything other than colour card as I see myself lined up in the paint section absorbing the panorama of paint colours…a process which I love, by the way, because the endless colour options are quite inspiring. But anyway, enough about paints, it’s all about the fabric!

Soft animal print cotton
I need to check whether or not I still have this fabric. Please hold off on emails until I confirm thanks.
If you’d like to do an animal print but in a softer palette this fabric is the go.
SOLD – Byron Bay floaty white cotton
Sold now thanks very much.
We are the start of the wrong season for this analogy but I’ll use it anyway because why not tuck away this length of perfect warm weather fabric as the seasons will change soon enough. This is a white cotton with that certain something that makes it an understated fashion fabric. It’s a lightweight breezy cotton with a delicate lattice or window pane weave and a slight crinkle…so much more than a just a white cotton and the sort of fabric that Easton Pearson would have worked with.

Fleur-de-lys designer cotton
Need to check whether or not I still have this. Hold off any emails until I confirm thanks.
Thinking of making some really cool trousers, shorts (Bermuda or otherwise), a fitted dress, a sculptured skirt with lots of top-stitching or a sharp and perfectly tailored jacket…all or any of them? Well, this fabric from designer T0ry Burch is for you.
Stunning graphic cotton Anthr0polgie
Please hold off on emails. I am not sure that I have any of this incredible cotton left. I will amend this post once I know.
This fabric is a big wowee. The colours are so brilliant and the graphics are fascinating.
Obviously this one is for lovers of prints, but if that’s you, the timing couldn’t be better because there’s simply fabulous ideas for eye-catching prints out there.
Black and white Ikat-style designer silk/cotton SOLD
THIS FABRIC IS GONE NOW THANKS
Ikat prints have an enduring popularity and when they are the combination of classic but edgy like this print on offer, even better.
Delicately crinkled avocado & flowers cotton
Will need to check whether or not I still have this.
It might be winter but the warmer months will be upon us again in no time so there is time to ponder what to make with this most perfect of fabrics.
I have hoarded this one for years, always imagining a loose and floaty top taking strong inspiration from the wonderful things that Easton Pears0n confect into life. But there is plenty of yardage for other things too.
M@rc Jacobs flowers on white stretch cotton SOLD
GONE NOW THANKS
Bumping this fabric up again — a gorgeous M@rc J fabric at a bargain price! Such a pretty fabric, a bit hippie…neat rows of serrated edge flowers in saturated blues, purples and pinks.
Black & white graphics cotton Sold
ALL SPOKEN FOR NOW, THANK YOU.
Now for a classic black and white fabric with an nice modern and clean graphic.
This is a medium/suiting weight fabric. The bonus is that it is completely reversible, with the black emphasis on one side and white on the other. (more…)
Black, white and grey cross-hatch stretch cotton SOLD
GONE, THANK YOU
This classic colour scheme of white, black and grey is made modern by the irregular cross-hatch pattern, looking like a graphic urban landscape.
Chl0e black & cream stripes cotton SOLD
ALL GONE NOW, MANY THANKS
My last piece on offer now.
Well, I’ve just set the scene for Chl0e in the post underneath this one (now further down in this blog). This particular cotton is from one of Chl0e’s best collections and made runway appearances as these dresses and tops.
Designer botanical gardens cotton SOLD
GONE, THANKS
You could learn a lot about botany examining this lovely cotton. So many lovely blooms tumble around in a free-fall of flowers.
Ikat/crosshatch blue & white cotton stretch GONE
GONE THANKS
When I look closely at this fabric it appears to be a cross-hatch print. When I look from a distance it seems to have strong Ikat characteristics. I think it is a combination of both of these graphics.
Designer cotton/lycra cream leaf brocade SOLD
GONE, THANK YOU
I’m not going to be sewing again for years I think, and I’m facing up to it. If I wasn’t, there’s no way I’d be putting out this stunning J Crew brocade-come-matelassé stunner.
Fiori field Japanese cotton SOLD
GONE, MANY THANKS
Continuing with the light cottons for a moment, this is a Japanese cotton, and they are always fabulous quality, with delicate flowers teeming all over the surface. Actually, it is apt that this is a Japanese fabric. The great Japanese designer Sacai used a cotton very, very similar to this is her most recent summer collection, which is just now hitting the stores.
I bet you haven’t seen a floral cotton made up like this before – a mish-mash trimmed with army green. Sacai makes it work!
Bloomsbury stretch cotton SOLD
GONE, THANKS
Here is a length of stretch cotton in a sophisticated palette of deep wines and army green, punctuated by splashes of magenta, cream and lime. It’s a print for print lovers…and those who may not normally be drawn to prints…
Touch of whimsy red & white cotton voile SOLD
GONE NOW, MANY THANKS
Red and white small motif prints are so happy and cheery I think.
This one is a very good quality cotton voile from the NYC garment district. (more…)
Moroccan medallion graphics cotton voile SOLD
GONE NOW THANKS
This looks like a Moroccan inspired print to me, with the large scale motifs overlapping each other creating a lace effect.
The fabric is a cotton voile, possibly there is a bit of silk in it, maybe 10 or 20%, but I am not sure.
Off white and black threaded cotton GONE
GONE NOW THANKS
Here is length of a cotton (or cotton blend? possibly with a hint of viscose in it?) from everyone’s favourite NYC fabric store.
It has a fabulous weave, with the black threads woven through to form patterns resembling ironwork scrolls.
Bright blooms cotton GONE
NOW GONE, THANK YOU
This fabric has to be described as a happy and joyous one.
The pattern is infused with a rainbow of colours…Kelly green, aqua, tangerine, egg yolk yellow, sienna, pale pink, all offset on a black background. (more…)
Dotti cotton – fresh! SOLD
THIS FABRIC IS GONE, THANKS
This fab cotton is from the studio of my favourite local designers.
I look at this fabric and just think fresh! The fabric feeling is fresh and light and breezy I think. But I especially love that it is quite a sophisticated and unusual colour palette…nice citrus and blues, but the buff and brown temper the sweetness.
Digital flowers Italian cotton piqué SOLD
THIS FABRIC IS NOW GONE – MANY THANKS
Ooh, ooh, ooh…
I couldn’t resist this stunner when it came along. (more…)
Blue batik flowers cotton voile SOLD
GONE NOW THANKS
Here’s a charming cotton voile in a perfect blue…
…not periwinkle blue, not delft blue. Does anyone know which blue this is?
Blue blooms stretch cotton remnant SOLD
THSI FABRIC IS NOW SOLD – MANY THANKS
Stunning colours, great fabric, but just a small piece.
Dark denim and ecru stamp pattern cotton SOLD
GONE NOW – MANY THANKS
This a fabulous dress length of fabric with an urban sort of look to it with the stamped design in dark denim.
Caribbean beaches cotton voile SOLD
GONE NOW THANKS
Here’s a top-length piece of cotton voile from the racks of my favourite fabric shop in NYC. Everything that ends up in the shelves of this store comes from the studios and workrooms of designers, most of them NY based.
With the bright, sunny, summery thing going on with this fabric, it seems perfectly suited to summer on the beach or by the pool in Australia…or the Caribbean…
Lightweight silk/cotton with antique gold roses SOLD
THIS FABRIC IS NOW SOLD – MANY THANKS
I have held on to this piece for soooo long…I just love it so…but finally, I’m relinquishing it.
This to me is a delicate and romantic and whimsical piece of fabric just calling out to be a lovely dress. (more…)
Dramatic designer silk-cotton black & white panel print SOLD
SOLD NOW, MANY THANKS
You won’t seen fabrics like this one come along all that often. This is a sensational panel print from NY design C S+effe.
The fabric face is a lustrous soft silk, almost like the feel of a duchess satin, and the reverse side is a cotton backing. (more…)
Denim coloured stretch canvas tiger print remnant SOLD
GONE NOW THANKS
This is a stretch cotton remnant that is perfect for a killer skirt.
I’m afraid that my photos of this cotton don’t do it justice at all. Close up, you don’t see the definitions between the patterns that are evident to the eye. (more…)
NY designer snake print cotton/silk/lycra SOLD
THIS FABRIC IS NOW SOLD – MANY THANKS
Animal print fabrics are always in fashion, but they are just huge at the moment, with no sign of waning in popularity. This fabric is a fantastic piece. It is an ex-designer fabric and superb quality with a cotton/silk/lycra blend.
This print is a super-stylish snakeskin print.
Blue cotton/lycra medallions SOLD
SOLD NOW – THANK YOU
I had a hard time choosing which fabric to post first! But, taking the leap with this lovely cotton because the weather is warmer and this is just the most perfect piece of fabric for a spring skirt (pleats?), top or dress.
I bought this fabric in the NYC garment district. It is an ex-designer fabric, may have been J Cr*w. It certainly has that American sportswear look about it. (more…)
Teal blue thunderstorm cotton/lycra SOLD
THIS FABRIC IS NOW SOLD – MANY THANKS
I love this cotton/lycra but I’ve got a long list of other fabrics lined up ahead of it so I’m being strict. The dark teals and blues work magnificently together in this print, tinged with cinnamon and dusk.
There’s something about Mary… GONE THANKS
PENDING NOW THANKS
In a summery designer dress like this…
This is a lovely Hug0 B0ss number from a few years ago, snaffled in a great hurry when it appeared and disappeared in no time from an Australian fabric store.
Broken arrow striped cotton/lycra SOLD
GONE NOW, THANKS
This is a top quality and very versatile medium-weight cotton in a small scale tribal graphic.
The cotton also has a touch of lycra (less that 5%) which will give that extra bit of wearing ease to whatever might be made. (more…)
Stylised Mums yellow tones cotton – Japanese? SOLD
SOLD NOW, MANY THANKS
I got this cotton from a local specialist fabric store and know that it came from one of the Australian designers at the time. Looking over it again now, I wonder if it might be a Japanese cotton.
Multicolour millefiori flowers on cotton SOLD
I think this is a print that can work for all ages. It is not overly sweet for an adult but then again it is not too sophisticated for a child. And there is enough fabric here that you could probably get one for each… (more…)
Marc Jacobs pom pom embroidered cotton SOLD
ALL SPOKEN FOR — GOSH, THAT WAS QUICK!
I had clear idea what I was going to do with this delightful Marc Jacobs fabric when I got it.
I had a couple of garments in mind. (more…)
