Hi and welcome…a quick word about this blog…
I'm a mad fabric collector but I've gone a bit overboard, so I've started this blog to re-home some gorgeous, top-quality fabrics at really great prices. Mostly ex-designer fabrics from places like New York's garment district and Milan's fabric mills, and mostly single pieces. Please see the 'About' and 'FAQ' at the top of this page for more info. Japanese embroidered kimono silk roll SOLD
GONE THANKS
Here’s something a bit different. Are there any lovers of vintage Japanese kimono silks out there?
If you are not familiar with the world of the kimono silks here’s another fabric avenue to become infatuated with :))
Stunning nippon inspired silk crepe SOLD
THIS FABRIC IS GONE NOW – MANY THANKS
Ok, this is one of my most favourite and guarded silks and I have been carefully hoarding it for ages. But now, its time has come.
I certainly have a penchant for the Japanese inspired fabrics. Once again, the Japanese textile imagery is the heart of the design, with the ever-popular Mums dominating. (I have several incredible vintage kimonos. The embroidery is unbelievable. I will take some photos and do a post soon).
Stylised Mums yellow tones cotton – Japanese? SOLD
SOLD NOW, MANY THANKS
I got this cotton from a local specialist fabric store and know that it came from one of the Australian designers at the time. Looking over it again now, I wonder if it might be a Japanese cotton.
