Hi and welcome…a quick word about this blog…
I'm a mad fabric collector but I've gone a bit overboard, so I've started this blog to re-home some gorgeous, top-quality fabrics at really great prices. Mostly ex-designer fabrics from places like New York's garment district and Milan's fabric mills, and mostly single pieces. Please see the 'About' and 'FAQ' at the top of this page for more info. Modern basketweave viscose/lycra
Hold off on emails until I put my hands on this one thanks. It is in the stash, I just have to locate it.
This is a really modern print, one that you can turn into an urban edgy look, or keep simple for a classic monotone that you can wear with just about everything because of the versatile black and white colours.
Deep jewel tones lava lamp viscose/lycra stretch
Looking at the photos I have taken of this one just now, all of a sudden it occurs to me that this pattern is reminiscent of the one made by a lava lamp. Or maybe not?
Gucci – a fabric with a provenance story to tell SOLD
THIS FABRIC IS NOW SOLD – MANY THANKS
Some 10 years ago Tom Ford dominated the fashion world, at his apex when he was the creative director of both Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. Every now and then he would produce an absolutely iconic work. A garment for the Gucci 2013 SS collection from which this fabric eventually derived was one of them.
Pink daisies viscose/lycra stretch SOLD
GONE NOW THANKS
For the lovers of stretch fabrics here is another quality viscose/lycra with a pattern of charming small scale daisies.
Enchanted florist viscose SOLD
ALL GONE, THANKS
If ever it was the year of the gorgeous dress, especially in a floral, it is this one. Well may Meryl Streep say, “…florals, for spring…ground-breaking”. But there is a very good reason floral prints are reprised time and time again…including in Vogue editorials.
Tropical reef viscose/lycra stretch fabric SOLD
GONE NOW
Continuing the destash of my stretch fabrics with this lovely abstract pattern in a rainbow of colours that makes me think of the underwater scenes in a tropical reef.
Bright mediterranean medallions viscose/lycra SOLD
NOW GONE, THANKS
Another bright fabric, quite irresistible if you have a love of colour, especially reds.
This print makes me think of geraniums and other bright flowers on a white balcony in summer.
Blue flower garland on red viscose/lycra stretch SOLD
GONE NOW – MANY THANKS
I get the very most wear out of great stretch tops that I can dress up or down. Hence I have bought a lot of viscose, rayon and cotton stretch fabric. Far too much.
Impressionist flowers viscose/lycra SOLD
GONE NOW THANKS
Another gorgeous stretch fabric for tops, an easy summer maxi-dress or pull-on skirt.
Thunderstorm colours irregular plaid print viscose SOLD
THIS FABRIC IS GONE NOW THANKS
Plaid prints have been huge the last few years and show no signs of abating yet.
Perhaps this can be considered a plaid with a twist, or a cross between a windowpane pattern and a plaid. (more…)
Black, white and brights tribal symbol viscose/lycra stretch SOLD
GONE NOW THANKS
Continuing with these wonderful quality viscose/lycra stretch fabrics, here is a really fun print…a black and white base reminiscent of tribal/totem symbols, brought alive by splashes of red, blue and yellow.
This one, like the others, originates from the excellent French mills.
